2024 Ecobricks for a 2025 Table
Over the course of 2024, my partner and I did our best to save our non-recyclable plastic. It wasn't easy—we traveled a lot, moved out of one home, and into another. We definitely didn't manage to save all of it, but what we did save has come in handy.
During our move, we contributed all our old 600ml ecobricks to a friend's project—meaning our cherished ecobrick coffee table was no more.
This is where the plastic came in handy!
As part of settling into our new home in the city of Jogja, Indonesia, I focused on getting it packed away. Working a little bit each day, I was able to complete five ecobricks. Just enough, added to add to 15 other 1.5L ecobricks that I had saved, , to make a milstein module! This 19 ecobrick ecobrick hexagon forms the base of our new (and much needed) table!
As you may know, we've also been busy launching our new GoBrik app. Of course, I used it to log each of my ecobricks—meaning all the module's bricks have been serialized, and their data can be looked up in our Brikchain archive for centuries to come (that's the goal of our development team!).
Most appropriately, the table reuses the glass top from our old 600ml ecobrick table (the one we sat around for countless interviews at our old home in Bali).
Ecobrick modules are great for so many things around the home! Learn more about them at ecobricks.org.
